Happy Fourth of July

I am in love.

I feel so blessed to be given the responsibility to raise such a beautiful little girl. Our little Ruby is so sweet, she has a very calm disposition and she just fits in with the family. It is so strange to have so much love for a baby girl that came to us through adoption. I know that in every adoption story all couples need to feel confirmation that a baby is right for them. Ruby is no different. Brad and I know that Ruby was intended for our family. The last 6 months we have had no doubts that she would make it to us. Our faith and constant reassurance of peace helped us through the rough spots of infertility. We may not have children of our own but there are so many wonderful perks to adoption. We have both committed to paying back our birthmother by doing the best we know how to raise a great and strong woman in this world. She will be armed in fashion and have the love and encouragement from her family. I want time to slow down a bit more. Our baby is almost a week old and it still feels like we left the hospital last night. Sunday we met at Myllyssa's home and signed papers for severing parental rights. It was a depressing meeting and sad for all around. It truly is a gift of love that she has given her little girl. We now are on our way to a court date so we can finalize and get sealed in the temple.

Myllyssa our birthmother.

There would be no way that outside onlookers would ever guess what our relationship together would be. Most assume we are lesbians with adopted brown babies. It is pretty funny to get those looks from people.

My hero.

Ruby we are so excited to meet you!

This photo session was taken by a good friend named Jessica Oliverson. She has a great eye for great shots.
